Are you thinking about life after work? Wondering how to make the most of your pension, government benefits, and personal savings? We are inviting active members age 50+ and their spouse to join us for an interactive workshop designed exclusively for UA Local 740 members preparing for retirement.
We have partnered with Eckler Ltd, a provider of financial wellness education, to facilitate this workshop. Eckler does not sell any financial products. The workshop is being provided with the sole goal of giving you the information and tools you need to start on a path to financial wellness in retirement.

- Retirement Lifestyle Planning: Explore eight essential lifestyle considerations for retirement, learn how your expenses and spending may change, and estimate the income you’ll need to maintain your standard of living.
- UA Local 740 Pension Plan: Get a clear understanding of your pension plan’s features, survivor options, and payment forms—so you can make informed decisions for your future.
- Government Benefits (CPP & OAS): Learn how the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security work, when to start collecting, and what survivor options are available.
- Personal Savings Strategies: Find out how to turn your RRSPs, LIRAs, and other savings into reliable retirement income. We’ll cover LIFs, RRIFs, annuities, and how to manage risks like inflation and longevity.
